283. FOR THY KINGDOM, LORD, EARNESTLY I WAIT - INGLES COM VIRTUDE - HINOS CCB /CCUS

 

1. The hope eternal in me shall not waver;

I know in heaven -one day I shall be.

I'll reign forever with my Lord and Saviour;

What joy unending there awaiteth me!

 

For Thy kingdom, Lord, earnestly I wait;

Thy splendor there, I'll contemplate.

I know I'll receive from Thy hands, O Lord,

My everlasting treasure and reward.

 

2. I'll be a witness here with joy and gladness;

The love of Jesus I shall manifest.

My Lord unfailing took away my sadness;

New life He gave, and with His peace I’m blest.

 

3. I live in hope and with Thy consolation;

I have the peace that only comes from Thee.

Within me lives the glorious expectation

Of the inheritance awaiting me.
